Internet Marketing and Web Traffic Resource Tools

I thought it would be useful to share with you the tools of the trade that I use in my everyday web “life”.

Now, none of these tools are “essential” to online success. It’s quite possible to be entirely successful without using them, so don’t think I am saying you need to buy any or all of these products to succeed online.

You will never get a “hard sell” from me; I am just not that type of person.  All I am doing here is showing you the tools I use to leverage my time and resources.

These products have dramatically increased my online results, either by saving hours or days of work compared to what I would have had to do manually, or by giving me massive increased flexibility in the options I can provide to my customers.  In the case of auto-responders (when you follow-up your mailing list of prospects automatically with regular emails, see the auto responder chapter for more details) it would nearly be impossible to do this manually, particularly when you list starts getting to a decent size.

I am only going to actually include products I personally use. This is not a grab for cash; rather this is a real opinion from me of products I use in my business everyday.  As I find and use new products I will add them to this chapter, so be sure to login to your members area often and grab the latest copy of the web traffic book.

Below I will outline some base information about the product, and find a link where you can find out more information about it.  I’ll try and include information on how it is useful and relevant to me.

1. Portal Feeder

I found this product in March 2007 when they opened their doors for a secret launch (I had an online buddy who was lucky enough to join on their first launch late 2005 tell me about the re-opening.  Unfortunately as of late May 2007 the doors have closed, but I suspect they will open again soon).

It’s hard to know where to start with Portal Feeder…

Now if you’re like me, you probably think that sounds like hype, but in practice I’ve found it to really be that good.  It really is a complete solution for getting your website or websites launched.  It has all sorts of cool stuff like automatic blog updates, automatic article uploads, keyword list generation (where you specify an initial keyword and it will find related keywords).  Essentially you can think of it as a complete management of your websites (or portals).

You truly can use the product to get yourself launched and build success in no time.

I can say I use it for all my websites, and it works very well, and it’s number one on my list of things I pay for each and every month.

1. AWeber

If you’ve been diligently reading this eBook (the auto-responder and mailing list chapters in particular) you will know that I am a firm believer and “pusher” of having your own list of prosects or customers. That is, people interested in products or services you provide as well as people who have purchased from you before.

What you need is a reputable site online to store all your prospects and customers and to be able to easily send information to them either automatically (auto-responders) or manually (if you decide to send a message to all your customers for example offering a special discount on an upcoming product).

AWeber is my number one choice for storing my mailing list and managing your mailing lists.  They come very highly recommended, and I’ve had nothing but great service from them.

One area of particular concern is the success rate of sending your emails.  What is the point of paying a little less but finding that (say) only 70% of your list successfully receives your message with 30% having delivery problems.  The 30% or higher can happen with smaller/cheaper providers.  Just how much could you potentially lose in income here?  Mega-bucks!  I use AWeber for all my mailing lists and suggest you do so as well.  They have a free trial available, so surf by their website and check out what they offer.

3. Content Composer

Think of this product as an “add-on” to Portal Feeder (however it can be used without a Portal Feeder subscription).

This product first and foremost seeks to eliminate Duplicate Content, which is an absolute no-no in your web pages or articles you submit to Article directories.  If you are just grabbing content and posting it unchanged on your website then your going to be highly disappointed in the results.

This product truly allows you to ensure your content is original.  I suggest you read up on the specifics of the product online for specific information.

4. Article Announcer

This product works with Content Composer and actually allows you to easily upload to the Article Directory sites.  Of course you can do this yourself manually, but it really does speed up the time for you to launch your articles to the Articles directories, particularly given it works with Content Composer.  It’s one of those things that you really do need to read up on, and while it’s not the cheapest product in the world, it does offer a huge saving in time for your Article submissions.

This is certainly a product that is not essential to you especially if you are only starting out, but because I value my time as money, I have found this product to pay for itself over and over to me due to the number of hours I have saved with it.

5. Butterfly Marketing

I really respect the guy who wrote this stuff.  His name is Mike Filsaime and he has taught me so much about web marketing.  His product has literally changed the way I do business, the entire structure mirrors the structure of his teachings and has proven to be enormously valuable to me.

I’ve had the opportunity to meet Mike in person and can say if you ever get a chance, make sure you seek him out, see him at a seminar, read his stuff, he is one switched on guy!

6. Web Hosting

Now I am not about to jump on the web hosting bandwagon, but I found a quality web host and got an amazing offer and just could not pass it by.

First things first, it’s not the cheapest hosting out there, but hopefully you already know that you should never take the cheapest price for a web host.  Any downtime literally is potential lost income for you.  This is something I have learnt from bitter experience, you will get burnt with cheaper webhosts who do not understand Internet Marketing.

Let me give you an example.  You put your website up on a cheap and nasty web host when you launch your website and all goes well (with perhaps a few glitches but you feel you can live with).  Then your business starts building up momentum and you launch a brand new product, and suddenly your site goes down without warning one day.  Turns out someone reported your site to your webhost as a spammer, and the web host just cancelled your account.  This is a real situation that I’ve seen happen (thankfully not to me).  It can and does happen.  Can you imagine the damage to your credibility you could suffer from this, and all for the sake of a few dollars per month?

Do what I did and go with a web host that knows and understands Internet marketers.  I’ve had a fantastic experience with them.

7. Pro Track Manager

You really do need to head over to the website to read up on this product. Some of the features include: -

a) Find out many people come to your website from each traffic source so you can know with certainty which ad campaigns actually work

b) Tracks sales, subscriptions, downloads, etc. from each of your traffic sources - don't just track visitors, track your conversions too

c) Tracks sales and actions on remote, affiliate websites (No other script can do this!)

d) Calculates cost per click, cost per sale, and cost per action for each one of your traffic sources so you can see if the return on your investment is worth it.

e) Tracks which keyword generates the sale in google adwords, overture, or any major ppc engine.

f) Analyzes and logs your click to sale and click to action conversion ratios!

g) Calculates your Return on investment, so you can quickly see which traffic sources are making money, and which are not!

h) Protects your affiliate sales from commission theft with encrypted html redirect pages! (Works with ANY affiliate program, especially Clickbank)

i) Automatically Shortens Your Tracking Urls!

8. Firefox and free add-ons.

Not exactly in the same category as the other items on the list, but you are using Firefox, and not the dreaded Internet Explorer, right (yes I am including IE7 in this discussion!).

If your not using Firefox, grab it from the link below, it’s totally free, and a lot safer than using Internet Explorer (there are also free versions for Windows, Mac, and even Linux).
